Request City records under the California Public Records Act.
Public Records Requests
The City of Sierra Madre responds to public records requests in accordance with the California Public Records Act.
- Requests are encouraged to be submitted through the online portal.
- City Council agendas and agenda reports may also be reviewed in person at the City’s public counter.
Response Timeline
- The City will respond as soon as possible and within the timeframes required by Government Code section 6253 (including any permitted extensions).
What to Expect After You Submit
- Review of whether the request seeks identifiable records
- Notification regarding availability and format/location
- Determination of any applicable disclosure exemptions
Fees and Copies
- If copies are requested, the City will advise estimated costs.
- Payment or a deposit may be required in accordance with City policy.

- The City provides access to identifiable records as required by law.
- The City does not conduct research, analyze data, or create records in response to a request.

Filing a Claim
A claim may be filed against the City of Sierra Madre for damages or injuries allegedly caused by the City. Claims must be submitted in accordance with applicable state laws and deadlines.
